The 1876 Proof Quarter Pattern - J-1455 is a proof quarter pattern struck at the Philadelphia Mint, part of the Metric & Stella Patterns (1874-1879) series. It was struck from the regular 1876 Seated Liberty quarter dies. USPatterns.com believes the 1876 copper strikings from regular dies were made for sale to collectors in sets, which were only partly complete that year. Two examples are believed to exist. It is struck in copper with a reeded edge. USPatterns.com rates it R-8. It is also catalogued as Pollock-1604. Cataloged as PCGS #61775.
