The 1873 Proof Three Cent Pattern - J-1263 is a proof three-cent pattern struck at the Philadelphia Mint, part of the Trade Dollar Era Patterns (1871-1873) series. It was struck from the regular 1873 silver three-cent dies. USPatterns.com regards the 1873 copper and aluminum strikings from regular dies as pieces made for sale to collectors in complete sets, cent through double eagle.
