The 1873 Proof Three Cent Pattern - J-1262 is a proof three-cent pattern struck at the Philadelphia Mint, part of the Trade Dollar Era Patterns (1871-1873) series. It was struck from the regular 1873 silver three-cent dies. USPatterns.com regards the 1873 copper and aluminum strikings from regular dies as pieces made for sale to collectors in complete sets, cent through double eagle. At least four are known in copper. It is struck in copper with a plain edge. USPatterns.com rates it R-7. It is also catalogued as Pollock-1404 and Adams-Woodin 1354. Cataloged as PCGS #61547.
