Description
The 1873 Proof Dollar Pattern - J-1303 is a proof dollar pattern struck at the Philadelphia Mint, part of the Trade Dollar Era Patterns (1871-1873) series. Its obverse is the long-handled seated Liberty of J-1299, and its reverse William Barber's eagle standing on a shield with E PLURIBUS UNUM on a ribbon. Two examples are known in aluminum. It is struck in aluminum with a reeded edge. USPatterns.com rates it R-8. It is also catalogued as Pollock-1445, Adams-Woodin 1333 and Taxay EP904. Cataloged as PCGS #61588.
