The 1871 Proof Dollar Pattern - J-1136 is a Judd listing for a proof dollar pattern of the Trade Dollar Era Patterns (1871-1873) series that USPatterns.com has not confirmed. Its obverse is James B. Longacre's Indian Princess design, cut into dies by William Barber, who succeeded Longacre after his death in 1869: Liberty, in an Indian headdress, sits facing left with her left hand on a globe bearing a LIBERTY scroll and her right holding a pole topped by a liberty cap, with flags behind her. This die has stars around the border and 13 stars in the flag, and the reverse is the Standard Silver reverse of 1870, with STANDARD above the denomination in a wreath of corn, cotton and wheat. USPatterns.com has not confirmed a copper piece with a plain edge; the two coins sold under this number were J-1142. Judd lists it in copper with a plain edge. It is also catalogued as Pollock-1273 and Adams-Woodin 1112. Cataloged as PCGS #61396.
