The 1869 Cent Pattern - J-669 is a copper-nickel cent pattern struck at the Philadelphia Mint, part of the Reconstruction Era Patterns (1866-1869) series, and PCGS and NGC list it on the Mint State scale apart from its proofs. It was struck from the regular 1869 Indian Head cent dies. Fewer than half a dozen are known, and USPatterns.com considers them likely mint errors. It is struck in copper-nickel with a plain edge. USPatterns.com rates it R-7. It is also catalogued as Pollock-745 and Adams-Woodin 823. Cataloged as PCGS #410808.
