Description

Judd-372, Pollock-443, is the eleventh 1864 proof two-cent pattern, also known with a variant J-372a. Like J-371, the existence of a compositional variant indicates this design was among the final candidates under serious consideration. The penultimate entries in the 1864 two-cent series represent designs that are virtually indistinguishable from the adopted production version to all but the most careful observers.
