Description

Judd-369, Pollock-440, is the seventh 1864 proof two-cent pattern. By J-369, the design was in its final stages of development, with the adopted version imminent. The progression from J-363 to J-374 shows increasingly subtle changes as the design converges on its final form. These late-series patterns are particularly valuable to students of die preparation and design methodology, as they reveal the final adjustments made by Longacre's engraving staff.
