Description
The 1864 Proof Two Cent Pattern - J-369 is a proof two-cent piece struck at the Philadelphia Mint, part of the Civil War Patterns (1860-1865) series. It pairs the regular 1864 two-cent obverse with the small motto version of the motto and the 1863 reverse on which CENTS is strongly curved. The aluminum example is believed unique. It is struck in aluminum with a plain edge; USPatterns records it as unique. Catalogued as Judd-369, Pollock-435, A/W 456, Taxay EP387. Cataloged as PCGS #60539.
