Description
The 1864 Proof Two Cent Pattern - J-371 is a proof two-cent piece struck at the Philadelphia Mint, part of the Civil War Patterns (1860-1865) series. It is an off-metal striking of the regular 1864 two-cent dies with the large motto. USPatterns says the dies came from an 1864 hub and the pieces are normally on planchets of about 92 grains. It is struck in copper-nickel with a plain edge; USPatterns rates it R-6. Catalogued as Judd-371, Pollock-440, A/W 453. Cataloged as PCGS #60541.
