Description
The 1863 Proof Two Cent Pattern - J-318 is a proof two-cent piece struck at the Philadelphia Mint, part of the Civil War Patterns (1860-1865) series. Although dated 1863, this two-cent piece with IN GOD WE TRUST and the regular reverse is, according to USPatterns, a backdated piece made around 1870 from a large-motto hub. It is struck in aluminum with a plain edge; USPatterns rates it R-7. Catalogued as Judd-318, Pollock-383, A/W 419, Taxay EP338. Cataloged as PCGS #60475.
