The 1863 Proof Two Cent Pattern - J-311 is a proof two-cent piece struck at the Philadelphia Mint, part of the Civil War Patterns (1860-1865) series. It pairs the Washington and GOD AND OUR COUNTRY obverse with the reverse later adopted for the regular two-cent piece. It is struck in aluminum with a plain edge; USPatterns rates it R-8.
