The (1806-07) Bronze Medal GW-58 - Sansom Original Silvered is filed under Washington Medals (Miscellaneous) in the Washington Pieces (1783-1800) series. This group holds Washington medals, counterstamps and replicas of many dates and makers that have no group of their own in the tree. Each page names its catalogue numbers; most were made long after 1800. Baker describes the Sansom medal as John Reich's copy of the Halliday medal, made for Joseph Sansom and published in Philadelphia in 1807; its dies rusted before many were struck (Baker 71). It is catalogued as Musante GW-58, Baker-71. PCGS lists it as #973345.
