1792 Washington Getz Pattern Copper Idler Copy Half Dollar
Strike Type
Coin Details
Description
A copper copy of the 1792 Washington Getz Pattern half dollar produced by Christopher Idler in the 1860s. Copper is the same metal as the Getz originals, making these copies more difficult to distinguish without close examination of strike characteristics and provenance. The design retains the Washington bust obverse and eagle reverse from the original 1792 pattern.
Rarity Notes
Rare. Copper Idler copies are sometimes confused with originals.
