Description
An 1860s restrike of the 1792 Washington Getz Pattern half dollar made by Philadelphia diesinker Christopher Idler. Idler acquired the original Getz dies and produced a limited number of copies for the collector market. These copies are identifiable by their different metal composition and strike characteristics compared to the 1792 originals. The design features Washington's bust on the obverse and an eagle on the reverse.
Rarity Notes
Rare. Idler copies are scarce but more available than original Getz strikes.
