Description

A bronze (AE) striking of the Manly Medal (GW-10), one of the most important and earliest Washington medals. Produced in 1790, this medal was commissioned by Samuel Manly and designed to honor Washington. The obverse features a fine portrait of Washington and the reverse commemorates the evacuation of Boston by British forces in 1776. The Manly Medal is considered one of the finest artistic achievements in early American numismatics.
