Description

The famous 1783 Washington "UNITY STATES" cent, one of the most recognizable colonial-era coins. The reverse legend reads UNITY STATES OF AMERICA instead of the expected UNITED STATES, making this either a deliberate variation or an error by the British die sinker. The obverse features Washington's military bust. The "Unity States" error has made this piece especially popular with collectors.
