Description

ADC-1c-1960D(SD)-42 This 1960-D small date tilted die clash shows only an obverse clash event with no indications that the reverse had been abraded to remove clash marks. This suggests that the mint may have removed the reverse die for abrading the clash marks and replaced that die with a new reverse. The overlay provided shows the relative position of the dies when they did clash. The picture to the left shows the clash marks left by the NE of ONE. This die can be recognized by the short die scratch over the E of LIBERTY and the small die gouge under the R of AMERICA on the reverse. Also present is a collar break under the word LIBERTY.
