1960 (D) Lincoln Memorial Cent - Small Date - Atypical Die Clash ADC-1c-1960D(SD)-34

Description

ADC-1c-1960D(SD)-34 is an atypical die clash on a 1960-D Small Date Lincoln Memorial cent, cataloged by Mad Die Clashes, with three separate clash events. The first two came before the third, since they left no marks on the obverse. They show as a clash mark through STATES, a diagonal mark from the bottom of UNITED's E down into bay 3 of the Memorial, and a mark across ONE's E and CENT's CE; MDC gives an overlay for the STATES clash and another for the ONE CENT clash. The last event had a small rotation between the dies, visible in the mark from the right side of the Memorial roof. MDC measures it at 4°, well within the Mint's specifications. MDC's clash-area notation is 4 / 1 2 3 5 (obverse / reverse).
