Error
Description
ADC-1c-1960D(SD)-32 This die shows three different clash events, all occurring on the reverse die. The picture above shows the clash marks left by the bottom and the lower back of Lincoln’s bust as it passed through the word STATES and the D of UNITED. Another clash event occurred when the dies clashed leaving the front line of the jacket clashed above the right roof of the Memorial building The last clash event occurred when the dies clashed leaving the line form by the top of Lincoln’s in the NE of ONE. It is a distinct possibility that the obverse die had been replaced by another die that was finished being abraded due to other die clashes. This die can be identified by the mint mark positioning and the heavy die scratches through the date.
