1960 (D) Lincoln Memorial Cent - Small Date - Atypical Die Clash ADC-1c-1960D(SD)-25

Description

ADC-1c-1960D(SD)-25 is an atypical die clash on a 1960-D Small Date Lincoln Memorial cent, cataloged by Mad Die Clashes. The Memorial's roof line left a strong mark into the 1 of the date, and the lower line of Lincoln's bust left a mark through STATES. An extra bar below the crossbar of the last T in STATES may point to a counter clash, but without evidence of a second clash this cannot be proven; every other coin with these clashes shows the same bar. A die chip in the last S of STATES gives positive identification of the die. MDC's clash-area notation is 4 / 1 (obverse / reverse).
