Description
ADC-1c-1960D(SD)-20 is an atypical die clash on a 1960-D Small Date Lincoln Memorial cent, cataloged by Mad Die Clashes in die stages B and C. The clash is above Lincoln's head. The bottoms of the letters of AMERICA also left a mark, and the mint mark is repunched. Dr. Dave Elliott found stage C, in which the clash marks have faded slightly but remain, and the reverse die shows none. The obverse has two new die chips, one between LIBERTY's B and E (a BIE) and one low in the R, plus a die scratch between the R and E. The reverse has a die scratch above the S in PLURIBUS. MDC's clash-area notation is 1 5 / (obverse / reverse), with an overlay. The coin belongs to Bob Piazza's private collection.
