1960 (D) Lincoln Memorial Cent - Small Date - Atypical Die Clash ADC-1c-1960D(SD)-16

Description

ADC-1c-1960D(SD)-16 is an atypical die clash on a 1960-D Small Date Lincoln Memorial cent, cataloged by Mad Die Clashes. Both dies show marks from this clash, which was tilted and also rotated 5° from the horizontal. The letters STATE of STATES marked the obverse, and the bottom of the bust left a mark across STATES on the reverse. MDC includes a magnified overlay of the reverse die's position at the clash. The obverse has a minor repunched mint mark with a split lower serif, and die cracks have formed across the top of the O in ONE. Clash-area notation: 3 / 1 (obverse / reverse).
