Description

ADC-1c-1960D(SD)-15 is an atypical die clash on a 1960-D Small Date Lincoln Memorial cent, cataloged by Mad Die Clashes. In this tilted clash, each die carries different marks. A slight mark projects from the lapel of Lincoln's jacket. Faded traces of a bar through STATES were probably left by an older clash. The top of Lincoln's head left a mark on the reverse, and MDC shows where the obverse die sat when it met the reverse. The mint mark has a split lower serif, which marks it as repunched, and CENT's T has a die chip. MDC's clash-area notation is 4 / 1 5 (obverse / reverse), with an overlay.
