Description

ADC-1c-1960D(SD)-14 is an atypical die clash on a 1960-D Small Date Lincoln Memorial cent, cataloged by Mad Die Clashes. The clash marks are mainly on the reverse, and MDC counts at least three sets. What looks like one unbroken line from ONE's O to CENT's E turns out, on analysis, to come from two separate clashes; a third shows as a doubled line through the C of CENT. The obverse has no matching clash marks, but a bar through STATES shows that yet another clash took place. A mark from the Memorial roof sits left of the date. Die markers: a repunched mint mark on the obverse and a chipped A in STATES on the reverse. MDC's clash-area notation is 4 / 1 D5 (obverse / reverse), with overlays of the die positions.
