1960 (D) Lincoln Memorial Cent - Small Date - Atypical Die Clash ADC-1c-1960D(SD)-11

Description

ADC-1c-1960D(SD)-11 is an atypical die clash on a 1960-D Small Date Lincoln Memorial cent, cataloged by Mad Die Clashes as one more of the tilted clashes found on this issue. The die also has a repunched mint mark, listed by Coppercoins as 1960D-1MM-118(SD). The mint mark has split upper and lower serifs, and its placement helps identify the die. STATES left clash marks on the obverse, and the Memorial roof line left a small mark beside Lincoln's jacket. Part of the D of UNITED shows in the field, projecting from Lincoln's back, and the reverse has a matching mark through the D of UNITED. MDC gives overlays of the die positions.
