1960 (D) Lincoln Memorial Cent - Small Date - Atypical Die Clash ADC-1c-1960D(SD)-08

Description

ADC-1c-1960D(SD)-08 is an atypical die clash on a 1960-D Small Date Lincoln Memorial cent, cataloged by Mad Die Clashes, which compares it to ADC-1c-1960D-02(SD). One die was tilted when the clash happened, and it met the obverse die below GOD. The NE of ONE shows above Lincoln's head, with a faint line passing through it and on to the C of CENT. The marks are weaker than on ADC-1c-1960D-02(SD), but MDC considers it clear which parts of the two dies met. The Memorial roof left a mark down and to the left of the 1 in the date. Die markers: a chipped-out 6 in the date, a large bi-level crack across Lincoln's head, LIBERTY's B beginning to chip out, and a chip on the diagonal of the N in CENT. MDC's clash-area notation is 1 4 / 5 (obverse / reverse), with overlays.
