1960 (D) Lincoln Memorial Cent - Small Date - Atypical Die Clash ADC-1c-1960D(SD)-02

Description

ADC-1c-1960D(SD)-02 is an atypical die clash on a 1960-D Small Date Lincoln Memorial cent, cataloged by Mad Die Clashes. In this tilted clash, ONE CENT marked the obverse above Lincoln's head: the NE of ONE, the CE of CENT and the diagonal stroke of the N in CENT all left traces. On the reverse, the top of Lincoln's head left a line that begins at the E of ONE and runs into the CE of CENT. The reverse also has a bar through STATES, but the obverse die had been abraded and does not show the opposing marks. A long die scratch, almost vertical before it turns diagonal, sits left of the 6 in the date and runs up into the field. MDC's clash-area notation is 1 / 1 5 (obverse / reverse), with an overlay of the die positions.
