1955-D Atypical Die Clash ADC-1c-1955D-01

Description

ADC-1c-1955D-01 This is an unusual die clash for it shows a centralized clash and also a tilted die clash; the word PLURIBUS can been seen partial clashed into the area below Lincoln’s bust. A close examination of the clash marks shows that at least two e vents did occur. The image to the left shows doubling on the clash marks left by the N of CENT (under Lincoln’s chin) and the E of ONE (just to the left of the date). The next image to the left shows the I of UNITED and the C of CENT clashed through the Y of LIBERTY These clash events can be recognized by the strong die scratching seen under the word LIBERTY and the die scratch seen through the U of UNUM.
