2011 (P) Presidential Dollar - Rutherford B. Hayes, Position A - Atypical Die Clash ADC-100C-2011-01RBH

Description

ADC-100c-2011-01(RBH) is an atypical die clash on a 2011-P Rutherford B. Hayes Presidential dollar, cataloged by Mad Die Clashes. The clash is very strong, and neither die was abraded. Skip Pfeiffer found the coin. MDC's overlay maps where the many clash marks fall. On the obverse die, Liberty's outline is clashed in from her crown down to her robe's left side; the top of the dollar sign sticks out from the back of Hayes' head, and the handle of her torch protrudes from his jacket collar. On the reverse, the main marks transferred from the obverse are Hayes' jacket lapel and the back of his head, seen around Liberty's right arm.
