About This Coin
The 2026 American Innovation Dollar is a United States dollar from the American Innovation Dollars 2018 to Date series. In 2026, coins were struck at the Denver and Philadelphia Mints. The obverse features a profile of the Statue of Liberty with a small stylized gear privy mark, and the reverses honor innovations and innovators from each state, the District of Columbia and the U.S. territories. The introductory coin in the series depicts George Washington's signature alongside stylized gears, commemorating his signing of the first U.S. patent on July 31, 1790 — establishing the American patent system that would fuel centuries of innovation. The 2026 coins honor Iowa (Norman Borlaug), Wisconsin (the Cray-1 supercomputer), California (Steve Jobs) and Minnesota (mobile refrigeration). Designed by Justin Kunz (obverse) / various reverse designers.
