Description
Doubling shows on the lower right edge of the horizontal bar on the shield. Additional doubling shows on the upper left corners of vertical shield stripes 11 and 13. Die Markers: Obverse: Tiny die gouges show below and right of the letter D in GOD. A diagonal die crack runs northwest from the front of Lincoln’s eyebrow into his forehead. A small area of die damage shows on Lincoln’s central temple. A die gouge (dot) shows behind Lincoln’s central ear. A tiny die gouge (dot) shows below the tip of Lincoln’s nose. A die gouge (dot) shows on the upper edge of Lincoln’s lapel. Reverse: A tiny die gouge shows to the northeast of the N in UNITED. Light vertical die gouges show above and northeast of the letter E in STATES. A vertical die gouge shows to the right of the upper C in AMERICA. A die chip shows on the upper shield edge above the letter U in PLURIBUS. A light die crack runs west from the previously mentioned die chip. A tiny die gouge shows on the central right ribbon curl.
