Description
The 2025 (D) American Innovation Dollar - Florida, Position A represents a Denver Mint issue from the American Innovation Dollars 2018 to Date series. The U.S. Mint's figure of 544,775 covers every Denver Florida dollar, whatever the orientation of its edge lettering; how many have the Position A edge is not recorded. The obverse features a profile of the Statue of Liberty with a small stylized gear privy mark, and the reverses honor innovations and innovators from each state, the District of Columbia and the U.S. territories. This coin honors Florida's role as America's gateway to space through 135 Space Shuttle missions from Kennedy Space Center that built the International Space Station and advanced human spaceflight. Denver's mint evolved from a frontier assay office into one of the nation's primary coin production facilities, opening in 1906. Struck in 88.5% copper, 6% zinc, 3.5% manganese and 2% nickel, weighing 8.1 grams, 26.5 mm in diameter, with a lettered edge.
