2024 (P) Zitkala-Ša Quarter - Doubled Die Reverse WDDR-009

Description

2024-P ZS WDDR-009 is a doubled die reverse on the 2024-P Zitkala-Ša quarter (American Women series), cataloged by the Wexler team. Doubling to the west shows on Zitkala-Ša's left sleeve, the right braid and the right glass tube beads. The obverse is WDDO-002, with slight doubling to the south on the eyelid and on the hair over the ear. Obverse markers: a thin scratch running SE from the S of TRUST, and a gouge over the B of LIBERTY on its left side. Reverse markers: a gouge between Zitkala-Ša's cheek and the ray just to her left; a gouge under the bird; a gouge near the rays under the last S of STATES; a curved gouge above the first two diamonds, under the first ray; a gouge under the U of UNITED; a gouge left of the I of ZITKALA; and a gouge between the I and B of PLURIBUS. Steven Bernatowicz submitted the variety. Wexler lists no cross-references. Wexler notes it closely resembles WDDR-011 and suggests comparing the doubling and markers of the two.
