2024 (P) Dr. Mary Edwards Walker Quarter - Doubled Die Obverse WDDO-003

Description

2024-P MEW WDDO-003 is a doubled die obverse on the 2024-P Dr. Mary Edwards Walker quarter (American Women series), cataloged by the Wexler team. Strong doubling to the east shows on the D of GOD, the final T of TRUST, the hair detail and the eye, and more strong doubling runs north in the hair detail. Obverse markers: a north-south crack on the bust's front tip and a gouge under that tip; a large gouge in front of the lips; and a gouge between the E of WE and the S of TRUST. The reverse is WDDR-002, which has strong doubling to the north on the Y of MARY, the DS of EDWARDS, the smaller Medal of Honor on Walker's uniform, the uniform's front, and her left shoulder. Reverse markers: a crack between the E and N of CENTS; a gouge under the N of UNITED; and small gouges over the RI of AMERICA. Dan Feagle submitted the variety. Wexler lists no cross-references.
