2023 (P) Lincoln Shield Cent - Doubled Die Reverse WDDR-002

Description

2023 WDDR-002 is a doubled die reverse on the 2023 Lincoln Shield cent, cataloged by the Wexler team. Mild extra thickness shows on the initials, which Wexler gives as JFM and LM, and UNITED shows split serifs. On the obverse, a gouge lies east of the indent between the chin and the lower lip, and a scratch runs NE in front of the mouth and nose. On the reverse, light crisscrossing scratches, mostly NE/SW, pass through JFM and the field to its left, and two parallel NE/SW scratches lie over the right side of the shield. Paul A. Sasso submitted the variety. Its Coppercoins number is 2023P-1DR-002.
