Description

The 2023 (P) American Innovation Dollar - Indiana, Position B represents a Philadelphia Mint issue from the American Innovation Dollars 2018 to Date series. The U.S. Mint's figure of 500,950 covers every Philadelphia Indiana dollar, whatever the orientation of its edge lettering; how many have the Position B edge is not recorded. The obverse features a profile of the Statue of Liberty with a small stylized gear privy mark, and the reverses honor innovations and innovators from each state, the District of Columbia and the U.S. territories. This coin honors Indiana's legacy of automotive innovation, from early manufacturing to the iconic Indianapolis 500. The reverse features vehicles spanning the evolution from early gas automobiles to modern Indy-style race cars. Struck in 88.5% copper, 6% zinc, 3.5% manganese and 2% nickel, weighing 8.1 grams, 26.49 mm in diameter, with a lettered edge. Cataloged as PCGS #916326.
