The Lincoln Shield Cent design, introduced in 2010 to replace the Lincoln Memorial reverse, features a union shield with a horizontal scroll bearing ONE CENT — a design by Lyndall Bass symbolizing Lincoln's preservation of the nation. Doubled die reverse varieties on Shield Cents can manifest across the intricate shield design, including vertical stripes, the horizontal banner text, and border elements. Die hubbing misalignment during manufacturing produced visible doubling on reverse elements of this specific die.
