2020 (P) Lincoln Shield Cent - Doubled Die Reverse WDDR-002

Description

2020 WDDR-002 is a doubled die reverse on the 2020 Lincoln Shield cent, cataloged by the Wexler team. The designer's initials LB are moderately doubled, which shows as extra thickness. Obverse markers: light horizontal scratches within the O of GOD, in its upper opening; a vertical die flow line at the rim NW of the W in WE; light diagonal scratches through and right of the RT of LIBERTY; and a series of gouges on the lower jacket. Reverse markers: a series of diagonal scratches below the NI of UNITED; a gouge leading toward the rim from the upper right edge of the first T in STATES; vertical scratches on both sides of the I in AMERICA; tiny gouges right of the last A in AMERICA, near its top; two tiny gouges in the field, up and to the left of the O in ONE; and an area of die damage on the shield below the N of ONE, above LB. Chris Hurley submitted the variety, and the updated photos come from a coin of Timothy S. McCollum's. Its Coppercoins number is 2020P-1DR-001.
