The 2018 (S) Voyageurs National Park Quarter is a quarter produced at the San Francisco Mint as part of the America the Beautiful Quarters 2010-2021 series. The U.S. Mint produced 831,560 examples, making this ranked 3rd of 15 mint variants by mintage, with less than 1% of production. The obverse features George Washington facing left, based on a 1786 bust by Jean-Antoine Houdon and the reverse displays unique designs featuring national parks and sites from each state and territory. The reverse depicts a common loon swimming with a rock cliff in the background. Voyageurs National Park is named for the French-Canadian fur traders who traveled these waterways, encompassing over 218,000 acres of lakes and forests along the Canadian border. Pictured Rocks (MI), Apostle Islands (WI), Voyageurs (MN), Cumberland Island (GA), and Block Island (RI) were featured. The program continued with strong collector support nearing its conclusion. Struck at the San Francisco Mint, established during the California Gold Rush and now primarily producing proof and collector coins. Estimated market value ranges from $0 to $4 depending on grade and condition. Struck in 75% copper, 25% nickel over a pure copper center, weighing 5.67 grams, 24.3 mm in diameter, with a reeded edge.
