Description

2017-P MO WDDR-033 is a doubled die reverse on the 2017-P Ozark National Scenic Riverways quarter (Missouri) in the America the Beautiful series, cataloged by the Wexler team. Rotated doubling is visible at the top of the cellar window. On the obverse: a chip on the bust over the last R of QUARTER; a large gouge within the D of GOD; two gouges between the F of OF and the first A of AMERICA; gouges over the E in LIBERTY on its left side and right of the I's base in that word; one above the right side of the final T in STATES; and gouges right of the M's top and left of the C, both in AMERICA. Reverse markers: a chip at the foot of the left roof and a pre-die break depression on that roof; a chip inside the R of the designer's initials RG (upper opening); a chip in the leftmost branches over the roof; and gouges among the branches to the right of the mill. George W. Powell, Jr. submitted the variety. Wexler lists no cross-references.
