2017 (P) Ozark National Scenic Riverways Quarter - Doubled Die Reverse WDDR-031

Description

2017-P MO WDDR-031 is a doubled die reverse on the 2017-P Ozark National Scenic Riverways quarter (Missouri) in the America the Beautiful series, cataloged by the Wexler team. One extra stone along the upper left side of the cellar window forms the doubling. On the obverse: gouges left of the L's base in LIBERTY; gouges NW of the Q of QUARTER and below it; one under the first R of QUARTER and one between the tops of its R and T; one left of the designer's initials JF; one left of the first L in DOLLAR; a small one under the W of WE; and a large gouge behind the ear. On the reverse, a thin crack runs through the branches under the YS of RIVERWAYS, and a large gouge sits over the left roof. George W. Powell, Jr. submitted the variety. Wexler lists no cross-references. Wexler notes it closely resembles WDDR-027 and suggests comparing doubling and die markers.
