2017 (P) Ozark National Scenic Riverways Quarter - Doubled Die Reverse WDDR-029

Description

2017-P MO WDDR-029 is a doubled die reverse on the 2017-P Ozark National Scenic Riverways quarter (Missouri) in the America the Beautiful series, cataloged by the Wexler team. Two extra stones on the upper left side of the cellar window make up the doubling. Obverse markers: a thin crack crosses the bust's base over the TER of QUARTER; gouges lie below and to the right of the Y's base in LIBERTY; a gouge sits left of the A's top in QUARTER and another right of its T; at the rim, above the T in UNITED on its left side, there is a small dent; a large gouge touches the lower tail of the final S in STATES; and gouges lie left of the F in OF and left of the lower right serif of the M in AMERICA. On the reverse, a pre-die break depression shows on the left roof, and a small gouge lies in the opening of the branches under the ER of RIVERWAYS. George W. Powell, Jr. submitted the variety. Wexler lists no cross-references. Wexler notes it closely resembles WDDR-002 and advises comparing the doubling and markers.
