The 2015 U.S. Marshals Service 225th Anniversary Commemorative Five Dollar Gold is a United States five-dollar gold coin from the Modern Commemorative Five Dollar Gold (1984-Date) series. In 2015 the West Point Mint struck 6,743 uncirculated and 24,982 proof U.S. Marshals Service five-dollar gold coins, 31,725 in all. The obverse features the Marshals Service star against an Old West scene, and the reverse displays an eagle holding a flag behind a shield marked U.S. MARSHAL. A modern issue from an era of rotating coin designs, collector-focused programs, and renewed interest in numismatic artistry. Struck in 90% gold and 10% alloy, weighing 8.36 grams, 21.6 mm in diameter, with a reeded edge. Designed by Donna Weaver/Paul C. Balan.
