2015 (P) Lincoln Shield Cent - Doubled Die Reverse WDDR-002

Description

2015 WDDR-002 is a doubled die reverse on the 2015 Lincoln Shield cent, cataloged by the Wexler team. Doubling is visible on the designer's initials LB and JFM, on the scroll at its top right, and on the letters of AMERICA. The letters of ONE CENT carry slight notching at their bottom left, and EPU (E PLURIBUS UNUM) shows slight distortion that grows from left to right. On the obverse, there is die pitting in the hair over the forehead's front and above that hair, and a crack leaves the eyebrow's front and runs NNW into the forehead. On the reverse, a crack and chips sit on the shield's top left. Stephen Young submitted the variety. CONECA lists it as 1-R-IV+VIII.
