2015 (P) Lincoln Shield Cent - Doubled Die Reverse WDDR-001

Description

2015 WDDR-001 is a doubled die reverse on the 2015 Lincoln Shield cent, cataloged by the Wexler team. The designer's initials LB show some extra thickness. On the obverse, a N/S crack runs through the hair left of the upper ear, and an E/W crack, with chips at its right end, crosses the hair on top of the head below WE. On the reverse, one gouge lies between the tops of the T and E in UNITED and another between the tops of the E and R in AMERICA, and chips sit at the shield's top above the PLU of PLURIBUS. Chris Freda submitted the variety. Wexler lists no cross-references.
