2014 (P) Roosevelt Dime - Doubled Die Reverse VDDR-003

Description

Third cataloged doubled die reverse for the 2014 Roosevelt Dime, VDDR-003 exhibits light spread on the upper right central olive leaf within the lower right leaf cluster of John R. Sinnock's enduring reverse design. The olive branch motif, representing peace, contains intricate botanical detail where individual leaf profiles create precise edges that reveal hub displacement during die manufacture. Die stage and marker codes remain partially unassigned: UVC and DMR designations are listed with placeholder question marks (UVC-??? and DMR-00?), indicating this variety awaits final catalog number assignment. Stage A represents Early Die State (unconfirmed), Stage B shows both reverse and obverse at Early-to-Mid Die State (EMDS) — an intermediate classification less commonly encountered than standard EDS or MDS designations — and Stage C reaches Late Die State (unconfirmed). The EMDS classification for Stage B suggests the documented specimens fall between the earliest strikes and full mid-die-state characteristics. Three DDRs from a single date confirms that hub misalignment continues to occur at detectable frequencies in modern high-speed minting, and the pending UVC/DMR assignment indicates this is a more recently discovered variety still being integrated into the reference catalog.
