Description

Doubling shows on the lower part of Thomas Jefferson’s nose. Die Markers: Obverse Stage A: Die gouge left of the I in LIBERTY. Die gouge between the last R in QUARTER and the D in DOLLAR. Die gouge touches the upper left side of the E in AMERICA. Obverse Stage B: Stage A die gouge left of the I weak but still present. All other Stage A markers abraded away. Die gouge near the head far below the left side of the M in AMERICA. Reverse Stage A: Small die gouge above the lower end of the doubling. Small die gouge on Washington's nose. Die gouge in the rocks left of Jefferson's right eyebrow. Reverse Stage B: Stage A die gouge on the nose abraded away. All other Stage A die markers still present. Three pre-die break depressions on the rock below the RUS in RUSHMORE. Small die gouge below the right side of the M in RUSHMORE.
