Description
Doubling shows on the lower part of Thomas Jefferson’s nose. Die Markers: Obverse: Left obverse edge heavily abraded. Large die gouge above the I in LIBERTY. Large die gouge in the lower opening of the E in LIBERTY. Die gouge at the inner left side of the U in QUARTER. Small die gouge below the U in TRUST. Small die gouge below the ear. Reverse: Die break on the top of Washington's head, below the RU in RUSHMORE. Die crack extends N from the suspended worker's right foot. Large die gouge below the right end of the scaffolding. Weak die scrapes in front of Jefferson's left eye.
