2012 Doubled Die Reverse DDR-007

Description

The third in a trio of strong westward doubled dies on the 2012-P Denali National Park Quarter, DDR-007 again shows the characteristic extra back neck on the Dall sheep ram — confirming that this design element was particularly susceptible to hub doubling across multiple die pairs. Die markers are cataloged as UVC-2214 and DMR-008. Like DDR-005, this variety has a confirmed late die state: Stages A (EDS) and B (MDS) remain unconfirmed, while Stage C shows both reverse and obverse in late die state. The confirmed LDS classification indicates extended die usage, which may correlate with the high demand for ATB quarters during their production runs. Three separate Denali dies producing the same strong westward spread on the ram's neck suggests a systematic hubbing issue during die manufacture rather than an isolated incident, making the DDR-005 through DDR-007 group a compelling case study in hub doubling mechanics.
