Description
CU-100c-2010P-01(FP) is a cud on the 2010 Philadelphia Franklin Pierce Presidential Dollar, cataloged by Cuds on Coins. The coin displays a raised, featureless blob at the rim — the hallmark of a cud error where a die fragment completely separated, leaving a void that fills during striking. The edge lettering was added after striking in random orientation, so the cud occurs with Position A and Position B edges. Franklin Pierce's presidency from 1853 to 1857 coincided with the pre-Civil War period, and his Presidential Dollar was part of the 2010 issuance that also included Buchanan and Lincoln. Cuds on Coins documented it on November 1, 2015.
